No, but can we discuss how my man’s wooing game went from serenading and incorrectly identifying planets to serenading and putting someone’s name in lights to putting food on the floor because he had every expectation she would eat it from the floor and be waiting for her with a glass of milk and a smile because he was so “thoughtful”? Can we discuss how my girl suddenly can’t distinguish between a girl she’s known for three years, and with whom she’d arguably gotten as close to as her then-girlfriend to continuously confusing her for another boy with whom she looks absolutely nothing alike aside from them both being round and brown? Can we discuss the writers think so little of all of these characters that they have to erase one completely and dumb down the others to make them unrecognizable and caricatures of the characters people had grown to care about in order for this new coupling to “work”? Can we discuss how the writers and many in the fandom aren’t that far apart in considering why people would be drawn to particular characters/relationships anyway - i.e., the whole “lesbians will be mad about Bram” re: writers and “only fat black girls” like Samcedes re: fandom? Can we discuss how these showrunners re-affirm the marginalization of already marginalized groups while at the same time touting about being for the “underdog” and anti-bullying?
Bless.
